OK, now that is over lets get to how you get a drivers license in Texas.
Sign up for our course
You can sign up for the course at 14 years old. But you can't take your learner's permit test until 15.
The course is designed to go at a pace so that it takes 24 hours to complete. The best way to do this is make it so that you finish the course within a few weeks of your 15th birthday.
Get Your Diver's Permit
Once you complete your course and get your completion certificate you can go to the TDPS and take your written exam for your learner's permit.
Driving Practice
The whole idea of the learner's permit is for you to be able to practice driving with a licensed driver to gain the skills needed to be a good driver. You need to do:
- 14 hours with a driving school
- 30 hours with a licensed driver over 21.
Complete the ITD Program
